02 Aug Woodlake Golf & Country Club
Two legends in golf architecture, Arnold Palmer and Ellis Maples, teamed up to design Woodlake’s two championship courses. The Maples Course was built in 1971 and is described by many as one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in the Southeast. Featuring lush Bermuda fairways and smooth bentgrass greens, many of the holes wind gracefully around the largest private, man-made lake in the state. A second eighteen holes was added in 1995 to meet the ever increasing demand at Woodlake. Arnold Palmer was brought in to design the new course and stayed true to his beliefs of building a course that is fair and challenging for players of all abilities.
