Tobacco Road Golf Club

If you haven’t yet played Tobacco Road, come see for yourself why golf course architects from 28 different countries voted Tobacco Road as the 50th best golf course in the world in the latest edition of Golf Course Architecture Magazine. Tobacco Road is one of only five golf courses in North Carolina ranked in the Top 100 Golf Courses in America in both Golf Magazine and Golf Digest. Using the native sands and vegetation, the late Mike Strantz carved Tobacco Road out of the spoils of an abandoned sand quarry and tobacco farm. Fellow golf course architect Eric Hiseman said Strantz “transformed what I understood to be possible with golf architecture. ‘The Road’ is his masterpiece. The most entertaining and inspirational course I have ever played.”
